Studies Show Strong Support for Montessori!
Current educational research supports the Montessori method by showing conclusively that:
* Children thrive on order, routine and ritual
* Learning is optimized when movement is consistent with thinking
* Children learn best when their learning is situated in meaningful contexts
* Children thrive when they feel a sense of choice and control
* Certain adult ways (as counseled by Montessori) are associated with
better child outcomes
In addition, when Montessori students are compared to non-Montessori students entering elementary school, significant advantages for Montessori children are found. The Montessori group is significantly better prepared for elementary school in social skills and reading and math than non-Montessori children. The Montessori children also test better for executive function, which is the ability to adapt to changing and more complex problems, and an indicator of future school and life success.
